The Gift of Interdependence

The Gift of Interdependence

One of my personal tender points has been my fear of being a burden to others. It’s one of those things where I see clearly where it’s emanated from, yet it’s so intricately woven into my way of being that I’m still navigating these waters.

As a result, I’ve seen myself as someone who needs to show up strong consistently so as not to require tending to … and someone who needs to lighten the load for others.

Ironically, because my own internal load has felt too heavy, I’ve ended up totally breaking down, requiring others to show up to support me in big ways for long periods of time.

It would be really great if I were to allow the ebb and flow to be less dramatic. I do believe I’m getting there.

How about you? Do you ever feel inclined to carry a heavier load than others do? If so, what do you feel might be driving that inclination to do so?
